Yining Chen

Prof. Yining Chen is currently a Research Professor in Coastal Biogeomorphology at Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, China. She also serves as the chief scientist for the Key Laboratory of Ocean Space Resource Management Technology, Ministry of Natural Resources. She holds a Doctoral Degree from the University of Southampton (UK), School of Ocean and Earth Science. Her current research interests focus on interactions and feedbacks between plants and sediment dynamics within coastal wetlands, and the subsequent influences on carbon sequestration processes. She is the Principle Investigator of many research projects, including National Key R&D Program of China and NSFC projects. Currently, she is the Associate Editor for the scientific journals ‘Geoscience Data Journal’ and ‘Anthropocene Coasts’, a member of the editorial boards of ‘Cambridge Prisms: Coastal Futures’ as well as a reviewer for numerous journals.
