Jianfang Chen

Dr. CHEN Jianfang is the Director of State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED) funded by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). He is also the Deputy Director General and Senior Research Scientist of the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). He serves as Associate Editor of Progress in Oceanography, Frontiers in Marine Science and Assistant Editor in Chief of Acta Oceanologica Sinica. His recent research interests include effect of sea ice retreat on biological pump in polar seas; eutrophication, ocean acidification and hypoxia in coastal waters; nutrient dynamics, plankton community and biogeochemical fluxes in open ocean. Dr. Chen has published over 300 research papers in peer-reviewed academic journals and 8 books and monographs as author or co-author.
