Future Earth Coasts
Future Earth Coasts, a core project of Future Earth, supports transformations for sustainability and adaptation to global change in the coastal zone. The project aims to strengthen the science-policy interface and contribute to securing sustainable coastal futures in the new epoch called the Anthropocene. We bring together a scientific and technological community from all disciplines for the co-design and co-production of knowledge that will engage with policymakers, business, industry and other stakeholders.
Future Earth Coasts is hosted by MaREI, a marine and renewable energy research, development and innovation centre supported by Science Foundation Ireland. We combine the expertise of a wide range of research groups and industry partners, with the shared mission of solving the main scientific, technical and socio-economic challenges across the marine and renewable energy spaces. MaREI researchers engage with policy makers, legislators, NGOs and community groups in addressing societal challenges in the marine and renewable energy sectors.
